Touching yet Foolish...

Check out this 7-year old Korean MTV. Question:
The guy is probably someone like Rossi, MOTO GP Champ, plus a professional photographer (noticed he used Nikon too, hee hee!), can't he afford a pair of eyes?
I mean, its touchy 'n all, but it seems illogical to do that. He could have just bought corneas from someone else, or get it from organ donors, is that all worth it?

Almost-last trip to Saburo

I went to this Jap sushi restaurant with Ernest for the very first time back in 2004. All I remember was the big unagi. Rated as one of the best sushi restaurant in Portland, this place is usually jam packed with people despite its long queue and long wait. Its amazing how people still seem to be thronging to this place despite having to wait for at least 30 mins to 2 hours! The best thing is that its sushis are "besar-besar belaka" (extremely big!) - sashimi, unagi, soft shell crab, you name it!

I guess this is going to be my few last trips to this place before returning to Malaysia..sob sob..Saburo, we are going to miss you!

I am BACK !!

After being dormant for a few weeks (or months? can't remember)..I am back! Too busy with work and ministry, don't have time to write, the very least I can do is to change the outlook of my blog to something more fresh (I hope!).

Sprouting potatoes? Can you eat them?

I once heard from some mom that never eat those sprouting potatoes, apparently, they may cause the newborn to have soft skull, or lose half of the skull? Or something like that... scary. Anyway, I saw this (see pic below) in the potatoes I kept too long in the drawer (paiseh paiseh).



These are called sprouting potatoes, in case you wonder, and yes, you can still eat them, they are safe to use, just be sure you remove the sprouts. However, green potatoes or the green part of a potato should NOT be eaten though - they contain the alkaloid 'solarin' which may have a poisonous effect when consumed in great quantities. Any green areas should be pared off before the potato is used.

"INCH ??!!" .. what a word..

Just a quick one before I go to sleep, wanna introduce to everyone this word that my co-worker once told me. You know how Cantonese say "chuen", meaning prideful. So directly translating it, we get the word 'inch' in English. "Chuen" = Prideful = "INCH!!!"..

So the next time someone tells you, you are so 'inch', you'll get it.

THE RACE is ON !! But will I see this JUMP (see pic) again?

The wait is eventually over!!....well almost! Finally, the F1 race is ON! this weekend. I heard some say they call it, Post-Schumacher era. He will be definately be missed. As you can see from the name I use for my blog, I use to be his fan, and am still now :). His tactics have been questionable at times, some may have been exaggerated just because he had 7 WDC's on his belt, you know how most people tend to focus on the bad things, especially when seeing others getting more successful, but that's the way life is..



Man..I still excited about whats going to happen this season, without Schumacher, I think things are going to be a bit easier for Alonso, AKA The Spaniard, I must say he's pretty quick and smart guy, to win 2 b2b WDC has to mean something, all credits to him and of course, his super reliable Renault 2005/6. No question about that.

Here's an interesting quote about The Spaniard... "the 25-year-old Spaniard insists he's all geared up to usher in the post-Michael Schumacher era with a triumphant first season driving for the British outfit..(quoted from f1-live.com)

Fingers crossed. I personally don't like The Spaniard, but we'll see. My support still goes to the Reds..the winning team! GO GO GO..! I can hear Martin Brundle's voice playing in my head now!

Hair Cut !!! RM 30

Ok, you guys are not going to believe this. I took my cam everywhere, even to the barber shop, there's this place called ABC owned by this HongKong guy, he's pretty skillful, let the picture speak for itself. My pastor's wife recommended me this place, said that his style is supposed to be more 'asian'. Check it out..hehe

Nightmare

I am losing sleep.. Dreamt about war in Malaysia, dying people, vivid images of children holding guns, bullets everywhere, people compelled to live inside RVs with bullet proof windows, it was a mess.

Then I dreamt I was running frantically inside a car park, this is the 2nd time I got such weird dream. Apparently, I left something important in level2, I gotta go get it back, I reached the spot, I saw a guy commited crime (supposed to be a small one, he just beats the parking toll gate but he looked back and he saw me!). Its not like he killed someone or something, its just a parking violation, he didn't pay the toll, thats all, but he hurled himself back into his car and came charging towards me! So I kept running, and I woke up, panting, heart beating fast, I can hear it inside my brains..sweating..

Everyone loves to blog? ME??

Its a place where you braindump your thoughts, its your life diary, its your journal, its where you say something where can't say elsewhere . . . those were the responses I got when I asked my wife and my friends on why they blog. I have waited 2 years, I have seen people blog and stopped after a short-while; some made it, and still going strong.

Did they inspire me to blog? Well, partly. Still, I can't imagine myself doing that now. I am asking myself, what am I doing here at 1.21 am on my 'going-steady-11th anniversary'? I guess I just want find out more about why people do that by doing it myself.

This is my first post, ever! We'll see how long I can keep this up . . . . we'll see..I'll try to keep it alive.. I call my column "silent moments", its the time when I take few step back from daily routine and think about life..

Oh, btw, a post would not be complete without a pic..thaz me, with my baby girl Chloe. My wife? She's back there taking picture, you will see her in the next post :)
